When it comes to style Courtney Rech not only knows what people want, she knows what sells. Senior Interior Designer at Hal Architects in Queensland, she works predominantly on mid-high range multi-residential apartment blocks, which she says dictates her design aesthetic to some degree.
“You have to design for the everyday person, be clever and try to inject your sense of style while still giving the market what they want, and making it sellable for the developer,” she says.
“I stick with fairly neutral tones so that my clients can add their own personal touches like soft furnishings, but find that texture adds life to a space, so it’s not too flat or boring.”
